Privacy Policy

Diabetes Tracker ("the app," "we," "us") is developed by Alvisca. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. It applies to the Diabetes Tracker mobile app only.

Information We Collect

• Account information: the email address you sign up with, via Firebase Authentication.
• Profile information (optional): if you choose to fill in your profile, your name, gender, date of birth, and diabetes type.
• Health information you enter: glucose readings and the unit you record them in (mg/dL or mmol/L), food and meal entries, HbA1c lab results, and medications you add — including name, dosage, reminder times, and your dose-taking history.
• Emergency contacts (optional): if you choose to add emergency contacts, the name, phone number, and relationship you provide. These are stored for your own reference inside the app only, and are never shared with anyone else.
• App usage data: how many AI nutrition lookups you've used today, so we can enforce the free-tier daily limit.
• Subscription status: whether your account is on the free or premium tier.

How We Use Your Information

• To store your glucose, food, HbA1c, and medication history and display it back to you — charts, logs, averages, and reminders.
• To generate AI-powered nutrition estimates: when you use this feature, the food description you type is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to estimate nutritional content. We do not include your name, email, or account identifiers in that request — only the food description itself.
• To send you medication reminder notifications, if you've set any up.
• To generate a health summary report (glucose readings, HbA1c history, and current medications) when you choose to create one to share with your doctor.
• To enforce free-tier usage limits and manage your subscription status.
• To maintain and secure the app through basic infrastructure logging via Firebase.

Where Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Authentication, and Storage). Firebase encrypts data in transit. Access to your stored data is restricted to your own account through Firestore security rules — no other user of the app can read or write your data.

Third Parties We Share Data With

• Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, and storage infrastructure.
• Anthropic (Claude API) — processes food descriptions you submit to generate nutrition estimates. Anthropic does not receive your name, email, or other account information from us.
• Google Play Billing — processes subscription payments, for accounts on the premium tier. We never see your card details.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share your health information with advertisers.

Your Choices

• Manual glucose and food logging always works without the AI feature, and is free and unlimited.
• Adding a profile, HbA1c readings, medications, and emergency contacts is entirely optional.
• You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting support@alvisca.com.

Diabetes Tracker is a personal logging and organizational tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It is not a substitute for professional medical care. Always consult your doctor or a qualified healthcare provider regarding your diabetes management, medication, and treatment decisions.

Children's Privacy

Diabetes Tracker is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

As the app adds new features, this policy will be updated to reflect what data those features collect. We'll update the effective date above when that happens.
